What is hazardous waste?

The types of waste we’re referring to are materials and substances which are regarded as being particularly harmful to humans or the environment if not properly managed. For example, asbestos, chemicals, pesticides, batteries, non-edible oils and fridges.

We’ve included information in our document to help you complete consignment notes in England after April 2016. Existing codes are obsolete from this date. Other parts of the UK are unaffected by this change.
