Flow chart - non-conformances

To improve your environmental performance you need to recognise when things haven’t gone well and do something about it. Use our flow chart to show staff what’s expected.

Non-conforming

Within environmental management systems, especially those intended to comply with ISO 14001, the term “non-conformance” is commonly used. This is the name given to any type of occurrence which shows that your policies or procedures were not followed. For example, if your system indicates that different waste streams will be separated and then a load becomes contaminated with the wrong type of waste, this would be a non-conformance. Other examples include fires, pollution events, environmental complaints, exceeding energy usage targets and more.

You can adapt our Flow Chart - Non-conformances as part of your environmental management system. By amending it to fit your organisation you will quickly develop a diagram which explains in simple terms how you would like staff to respond.
